The History Department at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy is seeking an instructor to teach university level surveys and seminars in World History to talented high school students. The selected candidate will be responsible for curriculum delivery as well as ongoing development and revision of existing classes. Candidates for the position should have at least a Master’s Degree in History or a related field (PhD preferred). Specializations in Europe, Africa, Latin America, or Asia are all welcome. The successful candidate must be able to teach courses in ancient religion/philosophy and the World in the 20th Century. Additional expertise in economics or history of science is desirable but not required.

Salary and Benefits:
Salary and benefits are commensurate with training and experience expected at this level of employment. The Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy offers an excellent comprehensive benefits package including health and retirement benefits. The State Universities Retirement System (SURS) is reciprocal with other Illinois public retirement systems such as the Teachers’ Retirement Systems of Illinois (TRS) and the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund (IMRF).
