The Department of History and Politics at Marymount University in Arlington, VA, invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in Early American history to begin fall of 2017.
The teaching load is 3-3 and will include History of the US to 1877, The Frontier, Colonial & Revolutionary America, Virginia and the Old South, The Jacksonian Era, Civil War & Reconstruction, Research & Writing and Senior Seminar.
Faculty members are expected to be engaged members of the university and active scholars in their fields. The position carries an annual salary plus benefits and the opportunity for additional summer term teaching if desired.

Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have received the PhD by August 2017. We seek applicants with experience teaching at the university level, interest in pedagogical development, and a desire to work with a diverse student body.
