Utica College, a small comprehensive college in Upstate New York, seeks applications for a tenure-track, Assistant Professor position in its History Department. Founded in 1946, Utica College is a private comprehensive institution distinguished for its integration of liberal and professional study. The College enrolls approximately 3,700 students – approximately 2,700 undergraduates and 1,000 graduate students. The Department of History at Utica College is searching for a historian of post-1865 African American history. A successful candidate must be able to teach lower division courses in the African American experience, as well as upper division courses in their area of expertise. The ideal candidate’s fields of expertise will complement existing course offerings and areas of specialization. Sub-field is open, but an aspect of African or African diaspora history will be particularly welcome.
