EUROPE AND THE WORLD, 1400-1800. The Department of History at The University of Memphis seeks an outstanding scholar and teacher for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in European history, to begin in August 2017 pending anticipated funding, with a preferred emphasis on Britain and a focus on transnational or global interactions. The successful candidate will teach courses in British and European history, a survey of World History since 1500, and topical undergraduate and graduate courses in fields of expertise. Ph.D. in History required by the time of appointment. Successful candidates will possess a strong research agenda and excellent teaching skills.
Screening of applications begins on Monday, November 28, 2016. The Search Committee will conduct preliminary interviews at the American Historical Association annual meeting in Denver, CO, in January 2017.
