Ferrum College is accepting applications for a tenure-track, full-time Assistant Professor of American History to begin fall 2017, chronological and geographic focus open. We seek a broadly trained U.S. historian to teach survey courses over the range of American History, as well as upper division courses for history and social studies majors. Preference will be given to candidates who envision US history in a broader global context, as well as those who have additional foci in Appalachian history, African-American history, Latin American History, or Russia/The Soviet Union/Eurasia. PhD by August, 2017. 4/4 teaching load, with optional experiential May term.
