Endowed Chair in Nineteenth-Century U. S.
The Department of History at The Pennsylvania State University, University Park, invites applications for the McCabe-Greer Professorship in Nineteenth-Century US History. All research specialties will be considered, and candidates with global, hemispheric or intercultural research interests are particularly encouraged to reply. Nineteenth-century US history is one of the department’s core areas of graduate strength and the successful applicant should be able to work closely with dual-title degree partners in African American Studies and Women’s, Gender and Sexuality Studies; with faculty in other areas of core strength including Latin America; and with the George and Ann Richards Civil War Era, which is housed in the department. The appointment will be made at the rank of professor. Review of applications will begin on October 1, 2016, and continue until the position is filled. Candidates must have a Ph.D., an outstanding record of published scholarship, and a strong commitment to graduate and undergraduate teaching.
