The Department of English & Creative Writing invites applications for a tenure track position as an Assistant Professor specializing in digital publishing and writing, beginning August 2017. Teaching responsibilities include introduction to modern publishing, the capstone course for the English-Publishing and Editing major, first-year composition, and introductory literature/genre surveys. The successful candidate will also design and teach new undergraduate courses in digital publishing and editing, multimodal composition, and topics emerging from the candidate’s research. Standard teaching load is 3/3.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. in English, Rhetoric and Composition, Professional Writing, or related field in Digital Humanities, and document excellence in teaching and a promising research or editorial agenda. Home to Modern Language Studies and multiple student publications, the department strongly values individual initiative, student mentoring, and experiential learning.
