The Department of History at the University of West Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in the history of the Middle East or Islamic World, open field, for fall 2017. Responsibilities include teaching a world history survey, a survey of the Middle East or the Islamic World, as well as advanced undergraduate courses and graduate seminars in the candidate’s area of specialization. Candidates who can teach a broad range of undergraduate courses and contribute to the department’s vibrant M.A. program are especially encouraged to apply. Ph.D. required at time of appointment. Submit cover letter, c.v., statement of teaching philosophy, sample syllabi, writing sample, and three letters of recommendation to Dr. Molly McCullers, Chair, Middle East/Islamic World Search Committee at histsrch@westga.edu by November 1, 2016.
