The History Department at California State University, East Bay seeks a specialist in American diversity and diasporas at the rank of assistant professor. Candidates must have a demonstrated record of scholarship and teaching pertaining to American diversity and diasporas and communities of color in any period from Atlantic origins to the present. Expertise and teaching experience in African American history, with interest in developing public history programs and curricula involving the local community preferred. The successful candidate will work with the department in shaping the History B.A. and M.A. programs for the cosmopolitan San Francisco Bay Area.
Candidates should demonstrate experience in teaching, mentoring, research, or community service that has prepared them to contribute to CSUEB's commitment to diversity and excellence. A Ph.D. in history or related field is required at time of appointment in September 2017.
