The Department of History (http://history.ucsd.edu) within the Division of Arts and Humanities at the University of California, San Diego is pleased to announce a search for a historian of Latin America since 1500. Our preference is for a scholar of South America or the Spanish-speaking Caribbean (comparative work included) whose research touches on an environmental topic broadly defined, including but not limited to natural/built environments, energy, oceans and transportation, science and technology, space and place, food or commodities, land and agriculture, and public health or disease. The successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in History or a related field at the time of appointment on July 1, 2017.
Candidates must demonstrate strong or potential accomplishments in areas contributing to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a desire to play a leadership role in advancing UC San Diego's commitment to achieving academic excellence and diversity.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on University of California pay scales.
