The Department of History at Texas Tech University seeks to appoint a tenure-track assistant professor in Colonial American history. The department is particularly interested in specializations related to North American borderlands and/or the Atlantic World. Teaching responsibilities will include graduate and undergraduate courses in Colonial American history and related subfields, as well as both halves of the U.S. history survey. A strong commitment to undergraduate and graduate teaching is required. The successful candidate must conduct research commensurate with the standards of a research-intensive university, and will be expected to offer appropriate service to the department, college, and university as needed. Applicants should have completed a PhD in the field of early United States history at the time of the appointment.
