The History Department of Indiana University and the Journal of American History seek a visiting assistant professor/assistant editor for a 1-year, non-tenure track appointment beginning August 1, 2016, with possible renewal for a second year. Ph.D. in history required. Specialization within U.S. History. The position includes halftime teaching in the department and halftime work as an Assistant Editor at the JAH whose main responsibilities will be managing the book reviews and working with the Process blog. Applications will be considered until the position is filled, but review of applications will begin June 8, 2016. Finalists will be interviewed through Skype or by telephone.
