Early Career Researcher in HIV Communications Research
Summary Description: The University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill Project-China is accepting applications for an Early Career Researcher supported by an NIH R01 grant. This research project focuses on developing, implementing and evaluating an HIV testing and linkage campaign using crowdsourcing (details here). This position offers the opportunity to be involved in cutting edge health communications research. Primary responsibilities include coordinating and implementing the social media component of a crowdsourcing intervention, preparing manuscripts for peer-reviewed journals, and assisting developing grant applications. The researcher will be based in Guangzhou, China at the UNC Project-China office as part of our SESH team (details here).
Minimum Requirements: 1. Masters or PhD in health communications, social media, public health, or other related field; 2. Demonstrated ability to analyze health communications data; 3. Demonstrated ability to produce peer-reviewed scientific articles; 4. Proficient in English and Mandarin Chinese.
Preferred Qualifications: 1. Experience in health communications research in international settings, preferably in China; 2. Experience evaluating interventions or programs; 4. Experience working with governmental or community-based organizations in international settings, preferably in China; 5. Strong quantitative statistical analysis skills.
Appointment and Salary: One year full-time appointment with salary and benefits package consistent with NIH standards with an option to extend to a second year contingent on meeting benchmarks.
