The Department of History at the University of Georgia invites applications from senior scholars to fill the B. Phinizy Spalding Distinguished Professorship in History, beginning in August 2016. We are looking for an established scholar with an outstanding record of teaching and research. The successful candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate students and will train specialists in U.S. History, focusing primarily on the American South. The salary for this tenured position is competitive and the position carries with it a generous research support account. PhD required in history or related field.
