The School of Culture and Society is looking for a research assistant in the field of archaeometry. The position is available from 1 November 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter.
This is a part-time position (18.5 hours per week) which lasts until 15 December 2016.
The position
The position is affiliated with a new interdisciplinary network initiative called AU STAR – Science and Technology in Archaeological Research. The position is located at AU Moesgård south of Aarhus. The Department of Archaeology has been developing its efforts in archaeometry for some time. Within this framework the position will involve serving the network, which comprises researchers from various scientific disciplines and the field of archaeology. This includes working to prepare projects involving dating methods, paleoecology and isotope analyses, meeting and conference organisation, and producing web content for the project homepage.

We are looking for someone with an interest in the field of cultural history/archaeology who also has strong competences with regard to archaeometry/environmental archaeology, preferably in combination with experience of data processing/databases. We are primarily looking for qualifications in one or more of the following areas:
- Dating methods
- Paleoecology
- Isotope analyses
- Statistics.

Qualifications
Applicants for the position of research assistant must be able to document possession of (as a minimum) a Master’s degree or equivalent qualifications within the field of archaeometry or related disciplines.
Applicants are also expected to document the competences described above, as well as:
- The ability to cooperate and work in teams
- Experience of organisational tasks.
