Syracuse University / Musicology – Full-time, Tenure-track appointment. Assistant Professor.
The department of Art and Music Histories in the College of Arts and Sciences seeks a musicologist with a specialization in 19th-century European music. Preference will be given to candidates with secondary areas in film music and/or performance studies. Responsibilities include teaching introductory, upper-level and graduate music history and cultures courses, advising music history and cultures majors and service on departmental, college and university committees.
A Ph.D. in Musicology or Music History must be completed before the initial appointment date and college level teaching experience is preferred.
The successful candidate is expected to have evidence that a distinguished scholarly profile will be attained in the future.
