The Department of Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies at Columbia University seeks to fill a position in Modern Arabic Literature at the rank of assistant professor. The successful candidate will have broad intellectual interests, a commitment to both undergraduate and graduate education, and a willingness to contribute to new departmental initiatives. Participation in the Columbia College Core Curriculum will be expected.
Applicants should submit a c.v., cover letter, a representative sample of scholarship, and upload their dissertation abstract and a sample course syllabus. They should also arrange to have recommendations sent by three referees. The search committee will begin reviewing applications on September 25, and will continue until an appointment is made.
