The School of History, Philosophy, and Religion at Oregon State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professorship in sub-Saharan African History since 1500 to begin in September 2016. Specialization is open, but we require an active research program and the ability to teach surveys in African and World History along with courses in the applicant’s fields of expertise. The successful applicant will join faculty with strengths in the history of science and medicine, the history of religion, colonialism, gender and sexuality, and environmental history.
