Ancient History. The History Department at the University of Oregon seeks to make a non-tenure track, full-time 9-month appointment in Ancient History to begin September 16, 2015. We are looking for a candidate who can offer six courses during the 2015-2016 school year, two per quarter, including the first quarter our Western Civilization survey, a course on Sports in Antiquity, and upper-division courses with broad appeal to students. Specialization open. Candidates must have a PhD in hand by Spring 2015 in History, Classics, or another relevant discipline. Applicants should submit a curriculum vitae, one chapter-length sample of scholarly work, syllabi, and other evidence of teaching effectiveness. Please also arrange for three letters of reference.
