Beloit College seeks a historian of U.S. History to teach courses in the history of the early modern Atlantic world and the U.S. prior to the Civil War. Preference for a scholar who can teach slavery and abolition. The position is a one-year limited term appointment with the possibility of renewal for one additional year. The successful applicant will teach a 2/3 courseload beginning in Fall 2015.
Located in a diverse community close to Madison, Milwaukee, and Chicago, Beloit College is a highly selective undergraduate liberal arts college with students from 48 states and 40 countries. We seek a candidate with a demonstrated ability to engage our racially diverse student population. The college emphasizes excellence in teaching, learning beyond the traditional classroom, international perspectives, and collaborative research among students and faculty.
