The Department of History and Geography at Columbus State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the history of the Islamic World before 1500. The successful candidate will teach both introductory survey courses and upper-level / graduate courses each semester.

A Ph.D. in History (or a related field) and university teaching experience are preferred, however applications from ABDs will be considered. The successful candidate will demonstrate potential for continued professional development, scholarship, and community engagement.
Special Instruction to Applicants

Applications for part-time and full-time faculty positions must include transcripts of all academic work, and official transcripts must be presented prior to campus visit if selected for interview. Applicants must have the ability to meet Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements, in particular a minimum of 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
