The Department of History, Hampden-Sydney College, invites applications for a full-time, one-year position in Central and/or Eastern European history beginning August 2015. Subfields and specialties open. Teaching responsibilities include a survey of Europe’s twentieth century, an upper-level course in either German or Soviet history, three additional courses in the applicant’s specialty, and courses in either the Western Culture or Rhetoric college-wide programs. Applicants with the PhD in hand by August 2015 are preferred, but ABDs will be considered. Hampden-Sydney College is a selective four-year liberal arts college for men enrolling around 1100 students located on a 1300-acre campus in Virginia, 60 miles southwest of Richmond.
