The Department of History at the University of West Florida is seeking an assistant professor (113160) to teach Historic Preservation, with a specialization in early nineteenth-century America, for a full-time, tenure-track position, beginning August 2015. The teaching load is three classes per semester, including core courses, upper-division courses, and graduate seminars. The department has special interest in candidates with the ability to teach subjects outside of Western and Latin American history. Other interests may include but need not be limited to quantitative analysis and gender. Experience with federal and state compliance and mitigation policies and practices are preferred. Preference will be given to candidates who have completed the dissertation and who have a record of successful teaching. Women and minorities are encouraged to apply. Minimum qualifications for the position are a completed doctoral degree by the time of appointment from an accredited institution with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service.
