The Department of National Security Affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School seeks applications for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor in the history or politics of Latin America. We are open to international relations and comparative perspectives. Candidates should demonstrate a strong potential for teaching excellence and scholarly research. The successful candidate must also be prepared to teach an introductory Masters-level course on international relations, political economy, or modern history, in addition to graduate seminars on Latin America.
The Naval Postgraduate School is a fully accredited graduate school the students of which are drawn from the armed forces and civilian agencies of the United States and other countries. The Department of National Security Affairs is multi-disciplinary, with curricula based on Political Science, History, and Economics.

Candidates should submit a cover letter that includes research and teaching interests, a curriculum vitae, and unofficial graduate transcripts. It would also be useful to have syllabi of relevant courses taught at the level of graduate seminars. Candidates should also submit writing samples, and three letters of recommendation. These confidential letters of recommendation should be submitted separately.
