About the role
The discipline of history is keen to increase its national and international profile over the coming years and to this end, is seeking to appoint a dynamic teaching and research academic to work within an emerging research strength in the School, the Centre for the History of Violence. The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Support the emerging research strengths in the History of Violence, working to build capacity for securing competitive grants and building international research networks.
- You will contribute to quality teaching and learning in the discipline through development, delivery, and coordination of undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
- You will assist in development of the discipline’s curriculum and its delivery including the compulsory sequence of History courses
Skills and Experience
- A PhD in an appropriate field.
- A track record of research excellence demonstrated through scholarly publication. Research in an aspect of the history of violence will be an added advantage.
- Demonstrated potential for success in competitive grant acquisition.
- Proven ability to deliver high-quality, innovative teaching and effective course administration; experience in online and blended delivery is desirable.
- Ability to teach into the History sequence of compulsory courses
- Capacity to supervise Honours and RHD candidates.

Academic Level B - $84,700 to $100,582 per annum, plus a generous employer superannuation contribution of up to 17%
