CALL FOR CANDIDATES
The Inter-University Program in African Studies at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Israel, invites applications for a full time tenure-track position in one of the following fields of African Studies: Anthropology, Sociology, Social/Cultural Geography, and the study of Islam in Africa. Candidates must have a Ph.D. in an Africa-related topic in one of these fields. We encourage those with a proven record of excellence in research and teaching to apply. In addition to teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, successful candidates will be expected to actively engage in research, to supervise graduate students and to take part in all academic activity in the African Studies program. The appointment will be in the department of the relevant discipline. Non-Hebrew speaking candidates will be able to teach in English for the first three years of employment, after which he/she will be expected to teach in Hebrew as well.
