The Department of History at Auburn University invites applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in the field of Medieval Europe. Area of specialization within Medieval European history is open, although candidates whose work considers inter-regional connections or takes a broader geographic or thematic orientation are especially encouraged to apply. The appointment will begin August 16, 2015. Although outstanding candidates who are in the final stages of dissertation writing (ABD) may be considered, appointment to the tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor requires the earned doctorate by August 16, 2015. The appointee will be responsible for teaching upper-level courses in area of specialization and large sections of World History.
Review of applications will begin on November 15, 2014, and continue until the position is filled.
The candidate selected for this position must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time the appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment; excellent communication skills required.
