UNC Asheville’s Department of History is seeking qualified applicants for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Colonial and 19th Century Central American History, beginning in August, 2015. The ideal candidate would have the Ph.D. in History in-hand. In addition to upper-division courses in Central American and Atlantic World History, the successful candidate should be able to teach U.S. History to 1865, World Civilization since 1500, the research methods and historiography course, North Carolina History, and the Senior Thesis sequence. Candidates with experience in teaching from the lens of underrepresented communities are especially encouraged to apply. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute to UNC Asheville’s Humanities Program.
