The History Department at Queens College seeks to appoint a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the field of US history with a specialization in New York City beginning in Fall, 2015. The search is broad, but our department also has particular interests in a number of additional subfields, including the colonial era and early republic; economic history; the Borough of Queens; and New York in the Atlantic World. Regardless of research specialty, the successful candidate will be expected to teach both halves of the US history survey in addition to upper division and Master’s level electives in her/his field, and also share departmental responsibilities in administrative contexts. Queens College, one of New York City’s premier educational institutions, is a public, urban university, where a diverse student body receives personalized attention.
