Modern U.S. History. The Department of History at the University of Alaska Anchorage invites applications for a tenure track, Assistant professor appointment in post-1945 U.S. History to begin in August 2015. The successful candidate will teach U.S. history surveys, Alaska history, the Junior Historiography and the Senior Seminar capstone courses, and will develop courses in his or her area of specialty. The department is interested in candidates with a research focus in environmental history, the history of race, gender, and immigration, or the U.S. in the world. Candidates must demonstrate potential for success in teaching, research, university and departmental service. The Department seeks a candidate dedicated to equity and diversity of the campus community and to promoting an environment that increases student knowledge about local, national, and global communities. College-level teaching experience required. Ph.D. in History required at the time of appointment.
