Job Description:
The Department of History (http://history.ucsd.edu/) within the Division of Arts and Humanities at UC San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body, and invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure-track position in the history of 19th-20th Century Japan. We are especially interested in candidates who can place the archipelago within regional and global contexts as well as situate their research and teaching around inter-disciplinary themes, such as science and technology, gender and sexuality, and/or race and empire. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2015.
The preferred candidate will have demonstrated strong leadership or a commitment to support diversity, equity, and inclusion in an academic setting.
