Elon University seeks applicants for a tenure-track position in Chinese history (Qing dynasty to the present preferred) at the assistant professor level beginning in mid-August 2015.
Applicants must demonstrate both excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level as well as strong scholarly potential. PhD in history is required as are strong language skills commensurate with the successful scholarly potential of any such candidate. Responsibilities include teaching upper and lower division courses in Chinese history and other areas of East Asian history as well as courses in transnational and global history. Applicants must also be willing to teach lower and upper division courses in the interdisciplinary common core.
