The Department of History, Hampden-Sydney College, invites applications for a full-time, one-year position in East Asian History beginning August 2014. Subfields and specialties open. Teaching responsibilities will consist of a two-semester East Asia survey course sequence (covering at minimum China and Japan) and five additional courses, with preference given to those candidates able to teach classes in the College’s Western Culture Program. PhDs preferred, but ABDs will be considered. Hampden-Sydney College is a selective four-year liberal arts college for men enrolling around 1050 students and located on a beautiful 1300-acre campus in Virginia, 60 miles southwest of Richmond.
