I. The Department of Philosophy at the University of Central Florida is seeking to hire a visiting lecturer in humanities and cultural studies. The teaching load is eight courses per academic year. This is a nine-month per year, non-tenure earning position, with the possibility of optional summer teaching. Position is expected to begin Fall 2014 and is renewable for up to four years, pending the availability of funding.+

II. Minimum Degree Requirement: The successful candidate must have at least one year of full time university level teaching experience and a Ph.D. in humanities or cultural studies or a related area from an accredited institution by May 1, 2014.+

Preferences: Experience teaching introductory level courses in humanistic traditions; experience teaching upper level courses in humanities and cultural studies that contribute to the major; ability to teach online courses in humanities and cultural studies; ability to teach interdisciplinary courses that contribute to other departmental programs.+

Special Conditions: Applicants who have previously served four years as visiting faculty at UCF are not eligible.+
