The Yaschik/Arnold Jewish Studies Program at the College of Charleston invites applications for the Norman and Gerry Sue Arnold Distinguished Visiting Chair in Jewish Studies for either fall or spring semester of the 2014-15 academic year. Candidates interested in applying now for the 2015-16 academic year are also welcome to do so. Scholars and teachers, journalists, writers, artists, and policy makers with expertise in any aspect of the Jewish experience are encouraged to apply. The visiting scholar will participate in the intellectual life of the Jewish Studies Program and the broader college community, and teach a one-semester undergraduate course. The position offers an ideal opportunity for research and writing in a beautiful, relaxing environment in historic Charleston, South Carolina, and carries a salary of up to $20,000 for the semester, plus free housing in a spacious three-bedroom house a short walk from campus.
