Leiden University invites applications for a fulltime University Lectureship in modern Japanese economy. We particularly welcome applications by scholars specialized in economic history or political economy, whose work reflects sensitivity to historical and socio-cultural context, and the ability to position the Japanese economy in (East-)Asian and global configurations. Appointment will be fixed-term from August 2014 through July 2016, with the possibility of extensions of up to four years, and of a permanent position thereafter.
