The Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS), located within the premises of Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery, offers undergraduate and postgraduate degree courses in Buddhist Studies conducted in both English and Chinese. It invites applications for a teaching position at the level of assistant/associate /full professor of Tantric Buddhism beginning in August 2014.
Candidates should have a PhD in Indian Buddhism or in related area by the time of appointment. Annual course load is maximum 12 hours a week, including undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Being able to teach classical Tibetan and/or Sanskrit in English and Chinese medium is required.
Applications should include a cover letter detailing teaching and research interests, a CV, contact details of three referees, and a writing sample or dissertation abstract. Additional materials such as sample syllabi and course descriptions are welcome but not required.
Salary is based on the qualification and experience of the candidate. Medical insurance will be covered, and housing allowance for foreigner will also be provided.
