Temple University Department of Media Studies and Production has two openings for colleagues to start in August 2014.
First Posting
Temple University’s School of Media and Communication (SMC) seeks to fill a tenured, senior (associate or full professor) faculty position in development media/communication and social change in the Department of Media Studies and Production to begin in fall 2014.
The successful candidate will have research interests related to traditional and/or emerging media in a global realm and will have expertise in research methods. We seek a colleague whose teaching and research will enhance our curriculum in ways that address ethical challenges of global media policy.
This position provides an opportunity to play a leadership role in a department with 800 undergraduate majors and an M.A. program. The department is also part of a school-wide Ph.D. program in Media and Communication. The School of Media and Communication is initiating a new M.S. in Globalization and Development Communication to which the successful candidate will contribute.
A Ph.D. is required. Faculty have the opportunity to teach undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral courses. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and credentials. Review of applications will begin November 4 and will continue until the position is filled.

Temple University’s School of Media and Communication (SMC) seeks to fill a tenure-track assistant professor position in the Department of Media Studies and Production to begin in fall 2014.
The successful candidate will specialize in some combination of media economics, media institutions, and media audiences, and will have expertise in quantitative research methods. The ability to approach these areas from both theoretical and practical perspectives is desirable.
A Ph.D. in hand by August 2014 is required. Applicants should have an established scholarly research trajectory, teaching experience, and an interest in teaching existing undergraduate and graduate courses in the department.
