FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
The Department of Business, Computer Information Systems area, of Queensborough Community College of The City University of New York invites applications from candidates with strong industry experience and academic credentials for a tenure track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor.
Areas of expertise must include Microsoft Office 13, Windows Operating System, Local Area Networking, Web Page development software, and Object Oriented programming languages. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate courses and conducting scholarly research that generates professional conference presentations and publications in peer review journals. The candidate is expected to contribute to curriculum development, course assessment and certification; to provide academic advisement and contribute to student activities sponsored by the department; to participate in pedagogical initiatives; and to serve on college committees. Some evening and weekend hours may be required. Continued scholarly activities are required for tenure and promotion.
The CIS group is actively developing articulation agreements with CUNY four year colleges and expanding its programs to meet industry demands for qualified candidates. The group is also working with other Business faculty to integrate technology skills with mainstream business courses, including Statistics, Finance, Marketing and Accounting.

QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in area(s) of experience or equivalent. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, demonstrated scholarship or achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
