The Department of History at Sam Houston State University invites applications for a tenure-track position in the history of the Islamic world. We especially seek candidates whose research and teaching emphasize cross-cultural, comparative, and/or interdisciplinary approaches. Chronological and geographical specializations open. Teaching responsibilities include the world history survey as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in Islamic history, including but not necessarily limited to the Middle East.
