The Herbert Irving Comprehensive Cancer Center, together with the Departments of Sociomedical Sciences and Epidemiology of Columbia University's Mailman School of Public Health, invite applications for a tenured or tenure-track scholar at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor Level in social and behavioral cancer prevention and control research. Research areas may relate to preventive health behaviors (e.g., tobacco prevention/cessation, physical activity, and dietary behaviors), obesity prevention, cancer screening and early detection, genetic counseling and testing, cancer outcomes research, behavioral oncology, treatment adherence, psycho-oncology, or cancer survivorship. Candidates should have research experience and training in behavioral science and/or the social sciences. Expertise in health communication, structural or behavioral interventions, implementation science, community-based research, and/or health disparities is desirable. The selected candidate will be expected to hold an active record of extramurally funded research, and to work across disciplines to collaborate with researchers at Columbia and the Cancer Center. The candidate will also mentor graduate students and junior faculty members, teach graduate courses, and engage in department and university-level service activities. Candidates should have a strong record of scholarly achievement, peer-reviewed publications, extramural funding in cancer prevention/control research, and teaching experience. A doctoral degree in an appropriate field is required. Rank will be commensurate with qualifications. Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience.
