Position:Indiana University of Pennsylvania's Department of History seeks to fill a tenure-track assistant professorship in the history of the Middle East. Area and period of specialization are open. Appointment begins fall 2013. Teaching responsibilities will include upper-division courses in area of specialization and a history survey course for nonmajors. The position involves a twelve-hour teaching load with two or three preparations per semester.
Qualifications:Ph.D. in history or in an appropriate area of study required; candidates must have successfully defended the dissertation by the date of the appointment. Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well during the on-campus interviews, which will include a teaching demonstration and a research presentation. All applicants must be work eligible.
