The Art department at Reed College invites application for a one-year position as Visiting Assistant Professor in non-Western Art or Architecture (including modern and contemporary) starting in the Fall of 2013. Ph.D. or near completion required. The position entails teaching 1) advanced courses in area of specialization; 2) an introductory seminar on the methodologies of art history; 3) likely participation in an interdisciplinary Humanities course. It will also entail advising senior theses in art history. Reed College is a small, highly selective undergraduate institution with a strong liberal arts curriculum and an emphasis on excellence in teaching and scholarship.
