Job Summary:
The Department of Politics at the University of San Francisco invites applications for a tenure-track position in critical political economy at the Assistant Professor level, to begin in Fall 2013.
Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the introductory course sequence in the Politics Major and teach upper division undergraduate courses in Global Economic Justice and in one or more of the following areas: 1) critical approaches to globalization and development 2) economic inequality and/or stratification in the United States; 3) environmental policy/movements; 4) and other related upper division undergraduate courses. The teaching load consists of two courses at four units each, per semester, plus one additional four-unit course over two years (2-2-2-3 over two years).
Minimum Qualifications:
Candidates must have university teaching experience, a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, evidence of scholarship (or substantial promise for significant and original research and publications), dedication to service, and an earned Ph.D. in Political Science/Politics by Fall 2013. The candidate will be expected to develop an independent and ongoing research program.
