The History Department at St. Lawrence University invites applications for a one-year, Visiting Assistant Professor position inLatin American History (potentially renewable for up to three years), beginning August 2012. Though the area of specialization is open, those candidates with a secondary field in the history of the Atlantic world, Europe, or Africa would be especially welcome. Candidates must offer evidence of excellence in teaching and be qualified to teach an interdisciplinary, introductory course in Caribbean and Latin American Studies. The standard workload is three courses per semester, including at least one at the introductory level. Candidates must have their Latin American History PhD in hand by August 2012. We welcome applications from candidates who bring diverse cultural, ethnic, and national perspectives to their scholarly work and teaching.
