Metropolitan State University is accepting applications for a full-time, probationary, tenure-track faculty position in the Individualized, Interdisciplinary and Lifelong Learning Department of First College. First College is committed to giving its students authority over and responsibility for the development of their individualized baccalaureate degree programs. The college also facilitates faculty training and development related to creative teaching/learning strategies for the entire university, and coordinates the assessment of experiential learning and collaborative returning-to-learning programs with agencies and organizations in the public and private sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Teach up to 21 semester credits a year from the courses offered in the college including, Perspectives: Educational Philosophy and Planning; the capstone course; Your Academic Journey (our first year experience course) and, other interdisciplinary courses.
- Coordinate curriculum and various college activities.
- Advise students in the individualized baccalaureate program.
Minimum Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate.
- Three years of teaching experience in higher education settings.
- A demonstrated commitment to linking theoretical and practical learning.
- A demonstrated commitment to student-centered advising.
- Experience serving a diverse student population.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience teaching a first year experience course.
- Experience working in assessment of experiential learning.
- Experience serving non-traditional students including adult learners.
- A degree in adult education, individualized or interdisciplinary studies, or related fields.
- Related work or volunteer experience in the community, including education, business, and/or industry.

Salary: Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and is determined by the salary placement process as outlined in the Inter Faculty Organization (IFO) Master Agreement
