Job Description:
The Art Program, Performing and Visual Arts Department, at the American University in Cairo is seeking applications for an Associate of Practice in Studio Art to begin Fall 2012. The successful applicant will be required to teach 6 courses per academic year (3 courses per semester) in practical/technical and conceptual undergraduate courses in Painting and Drawing, as well as in special topics within the applicant’s expertise. The position also carries administrative responsibilities at the department, school, and university levels.
Requirements:
PhD or MFA terminal degree in Art or a closely related discipline is required. The successful candidate will teach all levels of painting and drawing courses every academic year. Applicants should also have a thorough knowledge in art history, theory, and practice. Experience with cross-disciplinary collaboration and curriculum development is desirable. Preference will be given to candidates with a minimum of 3 years of successful teaching experience at the university level.
