The Department of Social Sciences, University of Toronto Scarborough invites applications for a full-time tenure-stream appointment in International Relations with a focus on Security. We welcome candidates interested in traditional and/or non-traditional security. The position will be at the rank of Assistant Professor and will commence July 1, 2012.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Political Science/International Relations at the time of appointment or be very close to completion. Candidates must also have a record of excellence in research and teaching and be able to communicate effectively as an undergraduate and graduate teacher. The appointment is at the University of Toronto Scarborough, which is a research-intensive institution with an interdisciplinary commitment, a multicultural student body, and a modern campus. The University offers the opportunity to conduct research, teach and live in one of the most diverse cities in the world. The University also offers opportunities to work in a range of collaborative programs and centers of research.
In addition to teaching in the undergraduate program at the University of Toronto Scarborough, the successful candidate will be a member of the tri-campus Graduate Department of Political Science at the University of Toronto and will be expected to teach in its graduate programs and supervise graduate students. Salary will be commensurate with qualificationsand experience.
