The Program in South Asian Studies at Princeton University is accepting applications for a full time, three-year, renewable lecturer position in Urdu-Hindi. The successful applicant will be asked to teach a total of five courses over two semesters, including some combination of courses on Urdu language at all levels (from beginning through advanced levels) and Hindi at the introductory and intermediate levels. The successful applicant will also be expected to advise undergraduate students. Ability to teach Urdu and Hindi scripts within the same curriculum is required, as is native or near-native command of Urdu, Hindi, and English. An MA or PhD in a related field and demonstrated excellence in college-level Urdu language teaching for at least two years is preferable.
