Open Rank Professor, Early Modern Japanese History (Tokugawa era)
The Department of East Asian Studies at Princeton University invites applications for an open ranked, senior or junior, position in early modern Japanese history (Tokugawa era). Outstanding candidates working on earlier periods may also be considered. The successful candidate should have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research. A Ph.D. degree in hand or expected by September 1, 2011, is preferred but not mandatory.
Applications should include a detailed letter of application, curriculum vitae, and a writing sample (e.g., a dissertation chapter for junior candidates). Junior applicants should provide the names and contact information for three references.
